This enormous building reminds us that Auschwitz was not only a place of mass extermination, but also a huge complex with its own economy and logistical facilities. The building shows how the Germans organised camp life, even in such an inhumane system, food supplies were taken care of. Today, the facility has educational and documentary value, supplementing knowledge about everyday life in Auschwitz. The Cabbage and nearby Potato Storages are under care of Foundation Pobliskie Miejsca Pamięci.
