Today we are sharing a video of our performance of Shostakovich's "Festive Overture" from our first concert cycle this Spring. Shostakovich was constantly under the watchful eye of Stalin's Soviet government. His music was denounced several times by the government and named "an enemy of the people," due to political perceptions of his music. Regardless, he continued to compose despite the government's attempts at censoring his music. We dedicate this performance to the people of Ukraine. | CCM W
