Portuguese man o war have been washing up on Cornish and Welsh beaches in the last week. This rather phallic individual was missing it’s stinging tentacles (hence why I let the kids this close) Don’t touch them or let your dog sniff at them, as they can still sting long after being beached. This follows a bizarre but brilliant summer for marine life; with unprecedented sightings of leatherback turtle, octopus, Rissos dolphin, weirdly huge pods of porpoise and of course giant bluefin tuna… signs
