The Rockford Public Library is celebrating Black History Month by spotlighting a local individual each week in February. Doug Janicke, RPL Archivist, is highlighting someone featured in the "Black Women in the Midwest Project." This project, conducted by Purdue University from 1932 to 1986, cataloged the lives and contributions of Black women in Illinois and Indiana, along with the women's organizations they were a part of. This week, we are learning about Dorothy Paige-Turner, a notable figure
